Douglas Reid of Kilmorack passed away suddenly on Wednesday 23 October.

Douglas was a keen shinty supporter and followed the fortunes of Strathglass Shinty Club and was a regular on the touchline for many years at home and away games with two of his sons Darren a current player and Garry a former player being key players for the club. His love of the game would see him regularly at games at Balgate, Braeview, and Castle Leod. Trips further afield were also enjoyed, and he was always welcomed and enjoyed being part of the shinty family.

Before his retiral, Douglas worked as a heavy plant operator on many major projects throughout Scotland, including a few shinty pitches.

Douglas is survived by his wife Rosie was a devoted and dearly loved dad to David, Garry, Tessa, Mandy, Emma and Darren.

The funeral will take place at Beauly Church of Scotland (Croyard Road) on Friday 1 November at 12.30pm, thereafter to Kilmorack Cemetery, all friends are warmly invited.
