It’s a first ever competitive meeting between yourselves and Aberdour, how are you feeling ahead of the game?

We are all feeling excited to be playing different teams and looking forward to the season ahead, it will be good to see what their side are like to play! 

How have preparations for the step up in divisions gone?-“

We know that this season will be a challenge for us, with loosing a few players we were all needing to step up a bit, and we have and it’s shown at preseason training, which has been good! Everyone has been dedicated and taking care of their own fitness also which makes a big difference. 

What are the club’s aims for the upcoming season?

As a team we’re looking to go into every game confident, and take something out of each performance. We are aiming to stay in the National again next season, so keeping the work up and making sure we’ve secured a spot by the end of the season. 

Your first match was against the division’s strongest side in Badenoch, what lessons can you take from the game?

As expected we were nervous having our first game of the season against last year’s league winners, but we’re still to settle into this new division. Our game against Badenoch gave us a good taste of what this season will be like, playing against some very talented north players, and hoping it will improve our overall performance in games to come. 

Next month you’ll face Strathspey in the 1st round of the Single Team Cup – what’s your thoughts on the new competition?

I think having a single team cup to enter into is a great idea, it gives smaller clubs more of a chance to get out there and recognised, with equally good chances of taking the cup home.
