Mowi Game of the Week - Uddingston vs Inveraray

Katie MacKay Interview

For game week 16 we focus our sights on the WCA Mowi South League, as high flying Inveraray make the trip to North Lanarkshire to take on Uddingston. Ahead of the game we spoke to Inveraray’s Katie MacKay.

It’s a trip down to Stepps in the Mowi South Division this weekend, how are you looking forward to the game?

  • Looking forward for our away game this weekend, and hoping to be coming away with a good result. It’s good to be heading down with our full squad and traveling home support.

Your 5 game unbeaten run came to an end at The Bught on Sunday, will you be looking to bounce back on Sunday?

  • I do hope we will bounce back this weekend after playing Inverness up at the Bught. It was a good experience for us all, seeing where we can improve etc. We have a strong 12 available this weekend to hopefully secure another win for us keeping us sitting top of the table.

Inveraray Ladies are into their second year playing – how have you seen the club progress in these last two years?

  • From looking back to when we first started to now, the progress has been amazing. It’s the commitment and dedication from all coaches and players is what makes it work.

You occupy pole position in the league, is there a belief that you can go on and seize promotion?

  • Yes definitely! We continue to aim high, hoping to gain promotion and be entering the national division next season. It will give us a chance to play different teams and at different grounds, and a bit more of a challenge!
