Mowi Game of the Week - Skye vs Badenoch
Megan Ralph Interview
It’s league leader vs top scorer in the WCA Mowi Premier League this weekend, as Skye host Badenoch. With both teams going into the game on the back of high scoring victories, both defences are sure to be tested, and ahead of the game we spoke to Badenoch’s Megan Ralph.
A trip to Portree to take on Skye this weekend, how are you feeling ahead of the game?
We are feeling good going into the game, there’s been a lot of hard work from all the girls going on in the background and we got a great win in the bag last weekend which has boosted our confidence. We know Skye will certainly give us a good game.
Top of the league, 5 wins and only 1 goal conceded – what’s working well?
Our teamwork and positivity has always been one our strongest qualities – being able to communicate all the time and cover each other allows us to play the shinty we want and have the trust in each other that we’ll get the job done.
Badenoch have a good record against Skye, are you confident of keeping this up?
We’ve always had good battles with Skye over the seasons and know it will be a hard game. They’ve had some good results this year so we would never underestimate them. If we play our own game and put a good shift in hopefully we will come out on top with 2 points.
You featured for Scotland last season, is the aim to keep up the same performance levels as last year to get another call up?
Of course, I want to keep performing at a high level and I’m always looking to improve. It’s always an honour to represent your country and something I aspire to try achieve each season I play. But for now I’m just focusing on one game at a time.
