It’s a trip to Glasgow in the Camanachd Cup this weekend, how is the mood in the squad ahead of the game?

The mood in the squad is positive. We have played well in most matches and had some good away days which is always helps team morale. 

It’s now 3 years since Shiel faced GMA, how do you prepare for games like these where the opposition is a bit of an unknown?

We will prepare the same as we do for every Saturday. GMA are a strong squad and it’s never an easy place to go. We will focus on trying to play our shinty and winning our individual battles. 

Looking ahead to next week, a win against Skye could take Shiel up to joint 3rd place, would this be a fair reflection of the way the team is playing?

Well the league table doesn’t lie and I feel we are playing good shinty. It would definitely be a boost for us if we got into third. That being said it’s still early in the season and things can change very quickly as there are no easy games in the Premiership. 

On a personal level you were included in last year’s Scotland squad, is the aim to keep up the same performance levels to give yourself a chance of repeating this feat?

Yes, it’s a great honor to play for Scotland. The standard of shinty is very high at the moment so it will be a tough squad to get in to. I am working hard to improve my game.
